XL2-Blue Ultracompetent Cells
XL2-Blue ultracompetent cells are high-efficiency derivatives of our XL1-Blue supercompetent cells. XL2-Blue cells are endonuclease deficient (endA), greatly improving the quality of miniprep DNA, and recombination deficient (recA), helping to ensure insert stability. The hsdR mutation prevents the cleavage of cloned DNA by the EcoK endonuclease system. The lacIqZΔM15 gene on the F´ episome allows blue-white screening for recombinant plasmids.
Transformation efficiency is 5 x 109 transformants/µg of pUC18 DNA. Cells are resistant to tetracycline and chloramphenicol.
