C3 Exoenzyme selectively ADP-ribosylates low molcular weight G proteins of the Rho subfamily at an apsaragine residue within the putative effector domain. It has been used as an effective tool to analyze the roles of Rho and related proteins in the activation of phospholipase D and other diverse processes such as lymphocyte-mediated cytotoxicity, cell motility and thrombin-induced platelet aggregation. the AdP-ribosylation site of exoenzyme C3 on rho A has been identified as Asn41. Not neurotoxic.
