AC toxin inserts itself into the membrane of target cells and delivers its adenylate cyclase enzymatic domain to the cell interior. Its adenylate cyclase activity is then stimulated by endogenous Ca2+ and calmodulin. The resulting increase in cAMP concentration can easily reach supraphysiological levels.

Reconstitution: Reconstitute each vial with 50µl sterile distilled water to obtain a 1mg/ml protein solution containing 20mM HEPES, pH 7.5 and 8M urea. Keep protein concentration >0.1 mg/ml to reduce loss due to nonspecific absorption to the vial.
Application: AC toxin is a unique tool for increasing cAMP levels in mammalian cells.

Use/Stability: Stability is 1 year at 4°C. After reconstitution, aliquot sample into individual tubes and store at -20°C.
