应用 | Superoxide dismutase from bovine erythrocytes has been used in a study to assess a kinetic model of radiation-induced inactivation of superoxide dismutase in nitrous oxide-saturated solutions. Superoxide dismutase from bovine erythrocytes has also been used in a study to investigate the possible participation of superoxide anion in the intestinal tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase reaction. |
产品介绍 | Superoxide dismutase (SOD) catalyzes the removal of the O2- free radical. The enzyme protects oxygen-metabolizing cells against harmful effects of superoxide free-radicals. Superoxide dismutase is inactivated by H2O2. It consists of two subunits of identical molecular weight joined by a disulfide bond. The molecular weight is 32,500 daltons, and there are two Cu(II) and two Zn(II) atoms per molecule. The isoelectric point of the enzyme is 4.95. |

生化机理 | 催化超氧化物自由基的歧化反应生成过氧化氢和氧分子。在细胞防御氧自由基的毒性作用方面发挥着重要作用。与一氧化氮 (NO) 竞争超氧化物阴离子(可与 NO 反应形成过亚硝酸盐),因此 SOD 能促进 NO 的活性。在培养的大鼠卵泡、神经细胞系和转基因小鼠中,SOD 也表现出抑制细胞凋亡的作用。 |
