Catalogue Number | ANT-162 |
Synonyms | IPF1, IUF1, IDX-1, MODY4, PDX1, STF-1, Insulin promoter factor 1, Pancreas Duodenum Homeobox-1. |
Type | Polyclonal Rabbit Antibody. |
Introduction | PDX1 activates insulin, somatostatin, glucokinase, islet amyloid polypeptide and glucose transporter type 2 gene transcription. IPF1 is particularly involved in glucose-dependent regulation of insulin gene transcription. Pancreas Duodenum Homeobox-1 binds preferentially the DNA motif 5'-[ct]taat[tg]-3'. During development, specifies the early pancreatic epithelium, permitting its proliferation, branching and subsequent differentiation. At adult stage, it is required for maintaining the hormone-producing phenotype of the beta-cell. |
Host | Rabbit. |
Immunogen | Recombinant PDX1 E.Coli derived. |
Specificity | Human and Mouse PDX-1. |
Molecular Weight | 35-40 kDa. |
Stability | Stable for 2 yeas at -20°C. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. |
Application | Western Blot: 1:1,000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:500 Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user. Routinely evaluated by western blot on lysates of rat pancreatic cell line INS-1. |
