英文名: Trimethoprim

描述: Trimethoprim (NSC-106568) 是抑菌抗生素，也是具有口服活性的二氢叶酸还原酶抑制剂。它对多种革兰氏阳性和革兰氏阴性需氧细菌具有活性，可用于尿路感染，肺孢子菌肺炎和志贺氏菌病的研究。

体内活性: Trimethoprim通过干扰细菌二氢叶酸还原酶的作用,抑制四氢叶酸的合成。抑制作用使得细菌DNA复制所必需的核苷酸缺乏,在某些情况下导致胸腺嘧啶死亡引起的细胞死亡。
