描述: eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 alpha 1 (EEF1A1) (387-394) [Multiple species](TFA) 是延伸因子 1 亚基。真核翻译延伸因子 1 alpha 1 (EEF1A1) 编码延伸因子 alpha 亚基的同种型- 1 复合物，负责将氨酰 tRNA 酶促递送至核糖体。这种亚型（α 1）在脑、胎盘、肺、肝、肾和胰腺中表达，另一种亚型（α 2）在脑、心脏和骨骼肌中表达。这种亚型在 66% 的 Felty 综合征患者中被鉴定为自身抗原。已发现该基因在许多染色体上具有多个拷贝，其中一些（如果不是全部）代表不同的假基因。

体外活性: There are two forms of eEF1A in eukaryotes, eEF1A1 and eEF1A2, both of which possess the same role in protein synthesis2. eEF1A2 was reported to be exclusively expressed in the brain, heart, and skeletal muscle, whereas eEF1A1 is well known to be ubiquitously expressed3. Tetraploid cells produced by impaired chromosomal condensation are eliminated by a novel type of cell death different from caspase-dependent apoptosis. Cell death was associated with the downregulation of eukaryotic translation elongation factor-1 a 1 (eEF1A1/EF-1a) expression in conjunction with the accumulation of its mRNA in processing bodies (P bodies). Importantly, expression of exogenous eEF1A1 was shown to inhibit the caspase-independent cell death, and similar cell death was observed after inducing the expression of short hairpin RNA speci?c for eEF1A12.
